Enhance your Domino Strategy™ implementation with activities that reach a broad audience and will create community attention.

1. Host a Domino Toppling Event on your campus or in your community. Domino Toppling is the art of arranging dominoes in an intricate pattern and then starting a chain reaction by tapping the first one to knock down the entire series. This is a fun activity that anyone can learn how to do. Go to www.domino-games.com for ideas. Host a contest and provide prizes (most creative, most difficult, etc) Contact the media to gain valuable television and newspaper exposure.

Ideas for competition:
Competitions between sororities and fraternities, sports teams, youth organizations, faculty and students, and so forth.

The Domino Toppling Event serves as an excellent vehicle to draw the public in and deliver your 0-1-2 message through posters, pamphlets, wallet cards and bookmarks.

Consider holding a press conference during the Toppling Event. Use The Domino Effect (the negative outcomes associated with alcohol misuse) as the speaking platform. Build speaking points around the information contained in the brochure “The Domino Strategy™ for Responsible Alcohol Use” or from the website www.faceproject.org/domino.

2. Use The Domino Strategy™ doorhangers – ideal for hanging on dorm doors and in residential neighborhoods. Support your efforts by placing press releases in the paper and/or using camera-ready art to further reinforce the message.

3. Use the The Domino Strategy™ PowerPoint™ presentation to educate key stakeholders and decision makers prior to any Domino Strategy activity. It is important that key people know the basics of the strategy before any activity takes place. The PowerPoint™ presentation is also a good tool to use with organizations that will be hosting community events or festivals where alcohol is going to be served. It provides rationale for establishing limits on container size and drink limits.

4. Use Domino print pieces to distribute at health fairs, libraries and community events. They can also be placed in health centers, health departments, physician offices and urgent care facilities. Support this effort by hanging Domino posters in hallways, waiting rooms and on information boards.

5. Distribute Domino wallet cards at freshman orientation programs on college and university campuses. They are also ideal for distributing at counseling centers, health centers and student
gathering areas.
