To begin with, Join Together's CEO, David Rosenbloom told us that the organization's "Get Serious" campaign represents a continuation of its commitment since 1991 to help communities deal more effectively with alcohol, tobacco and other drug problems. "Join Together's first national policy panel in 1992 was on underage drinking and their recommendation was that since it was illegal for anyone under 21 to drink, it should be illegal for anyone under 21 to drive with any measurable blood alcohol. Spring Break is Different...

this year, although college students are still heading south to many of their favorite destinations. News reports say that this year students are hitting the sand for service as well as the sun. Volunteers are spending their vacation in New Orleans and elsewhere along the Hurricane Katrina-battered Gulf Coast, working with groups such as Habitat for Humanity, helping locals clean up and rebuild.
