For the First Time...
in the Gallup's measurement of Americans' drinking preferences, wine has edged out beer
as the alcoholic beverage adult drinkers say they consume more often. A decade ago, when
Gallup asked Americans about their drinking preference, beer was the runaway leader, with
47 percent naming it. Just 27 percent named wine, and between 18 percent and 24 percent named
liquor as their preferred alcoholic drink.
